I was very happy that we did not have anything planned for yesterday afternoon when my little guy announced {in the middle of a mouthful of bagel} that his tooth had fallen out! He had already lost the middle bottom two teeth, but as the "big teeth" grew in, a third tooth has now been forced out. We celebrated the first two teeth, the tooth fairy came, it was wonderful. However, I never managed to put together a tooth pillow, so I decided today would be the day.
Using a small piece of navy fleece, I pulled this little pillow together in no time. I hand stitched the sides {right sides in}, then turned the pouch right side out to create the little pocket before stuffing the pillow itself. I used a blanket stitch to attatch the pocket and close the top of the pillow...but then it looked so nice, I decided to blanket stitch around the entire outside to finish it off. I did use a bit of "stitch witchery" iron-on adhesive to hem the tiny piece of turtle fabric before stitching it to the pillow. This made things alot easier and would help ensure that the tiny tooth would not get stuck anywhere inside the pocket.
I finished off the project with my little tag that I put on the things I make for my kiddos {these are SO fun to have!} and this cool green button that tied in with the turtle fabric that Tobin adores, and the green embroidery floss.
Such a fun and easy project! I know that my little guy can hardly wait to put his little tooth in his new pillow to leave for the tooth fairy tonight. Hey, do you think that might mean an early bedtime? I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I love it.
Those tags super cool. Did you get them from etsy?
P.S. that is so great that you are going to order something from her! We already have a big purple octopus and a little crab. awesome connections being made every time you turn around!

Right on to new friends : )
I ordered the tags through Namemaker.com...google it if I am off. They might be a bit more than other sites, but not by much. The site is easy to use and I really like their options for the color and font...
