Yesterday we took an adventure to our {semi} local orchard to pick peaches. We go there every year for our apples and pumpkins, but this was the first year we have done peaches and I will tell you it will definately not be the last!
:: The weather was perfect...
:: The kiddos had a blast...
:: And now we have a beautiful selection of fresh peaches and nectarines to enjoy! This whole experience really jives with my desire for my little ones to understand and appreciate where food comes from, {not the grocery store}. I remember hearing that there was a dot com directory that you could look up that would direct you to orchards in your area that allow people to harvest their own produce. Please, take the time to inquire about this opportunity, I'm sure you will enjoy it! Now, what to make with all of these yummy goodies? That is assuming that they are not gone by the weekend!
Have a beautiful day!

I love that idea. It makes food more of an adventure than a chore... slowing it down to enjoy! Yummm... I loooove fresh summer peaches!

Thanks for the update. I have been eyeing the orchard over the past few weeks and have been waiting for the peaches to be ready. We are off to pick this weekend!

They are ready...even the ones that were hard when we picked them literally ripened in the back of the car on the way home. The kids will love this!

Your moving? How exciting! I feel really lucky to live where we do with so many things to do very close by. These little things make such wonderful memories and family traditions!
